Sony has recently disclosed the launch date for the upcoming Xperia 5 V smartphone, which is set to arrive on September 1st at 4 PM local time (12.30 PM IST). Despite this announcement, the company has not divulged any specifics or features regarding the device.
The Xperia 5 V is presumed to succeed the Sony Xperia 5 IV flagship from the previous year. It has gained attention due to a promotional video that surfaced a few days ago. This will be Sony’s third smartphone launch in the current year, following the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V releases.
While comprehensive details remain scarce, early reports indicate that the Xperia 5 V might present a dual rear camera setup and could potentially be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device is rumored to be available in black, blue, and white color options. The rear cameras are anticipated to be vertically aligned with an accompanying LED flash. The design is expected to feature a matte finish along with Sony branding on the rear.
In May of this year, Sony introduced the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V models. The Xperia 1 V debuted with a starting price of $1,399 in Europe, offering Green and Black color choices. Meanwhile, the Xperia 10 V entered the market at a starting price of EUR 449 and was available in Black, Lavender, Sage Green, and White color variants.
