Speculations abound regarding the Xiaomi 14 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Numerous leaks have surfaced, divulging details about both the smartphone and the chipset. A recent report even asserts that the Xiaomi 14 series will mark the debut of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
In October, Qualcomm plans to unveil its next-gen flagship chipset at the Snapdragon Summit 2023. Shortly thereafter, Xiaomi will introduce the new MIUI 15 operating on Android 14, shedding light on the Xiaomi 14 series. This event will serve as a preliminary announcement for Xiaomi’s forthcoming flagship. The official launch of the Xiaomi 14 is slated for November, with the device being pre-installed with the stable version of MIUI 15.
The timing of this report aligns with the launch schedules of both companies. Given Apple’s September iPhone launch, October appears well-suited for the chipset unveiling. Subsequently, the Xiaomi 14 is scheduled for November release, followed by a flurry of smartphone launches from other brands like Vivo, Oppo, and ZTE.
Previously, Vivo’s X90 Pro+ was the pioneer device to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It was succeeded by the iQOO 11 and 11 Pro, followed by the Xiaomi 13 Series. The expectation is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will debut alongside the Xiaomi 14 series.
The chipset boasts an octa-core configuration comprising a Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A720 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores.
Xiaomi 14’s successor is set to introduce numerous upgrades in both software and hardware aspects. The smartphone is poised to incorporate a new 50MP 1/1.28-inch primary sensor, larger than its predecessor’s. This will be accompanied by a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom capability and an ultrawide angle lens. Additionally, the base model is projected to house a 4860mAh battery, featuring 90W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
Notably, a design overhaul is anticipated, with even the camera module featuring a distinct arrangement from the previous year’s model.
