There is a possibility of the Google Pixel Watch 2 being launched in India

The anticipated Google Pixel Watch 2 is predicted to incorporate a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, signifying a significant advancement from the original Pixel Watch, which was introduced in October 2022.

As outlined by an Android Authority article, the Pixel Watch 2 is potentially being developed under the code names ‘Eos’ and ‘Aurora,’ which likely correspond to LTE and Wi-Fi exclusive variants, respectively. The Pixel Watch 2 series is anticipated to release in three distinct models, distinguished by model numbers G4TSL, GC3G8, and GD2WG. Notably, the report indicates that an India launch might be on the horizon, given that India’s BIS regulatory e-labels are listed.

While the first-generation model featured an in-house Exynos 9110 chipset, the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to adopt a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC. This transition is in alignment with previous indications of hardware upgrades. The Snapdragon W5 chip is believed to utilize the same Samsung 4nm process as many smartphone chips from 2021 and 2022, leading to improved efficiency. It is anticipated to support energy-saving modes like Deep Sleep and Hibernation, thus contributing to extended battery life.

The upcoming Pixel Watch 2 is projected to retain a 1.2-inch round OLED display with a resolution of 384 x 384 pixels, featuring notable bezels. However, the display manufacturer might shift from BOE to Samsung Display for sourcing the screens.

Enhancing connectivity options, the Pixel Watch 2 is likely to incorporate ultrawide-band (UWB) technology, a burgeoning choice alongside Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. UWB facilitates short-range data transmission via pulse-based radio waves, enabling device localization.
