Thomson Computing’s Metavisio France Introduces Laptops and Tablets Through a Manufacturing Partnership with Make in India (MII) in Collaboration with SAHASRA Group

Thomson Computing, operating under METAVISIO, is making a noteworthy entry into the Indian consumer electronics market by introducing an extensive range of laptops and tablets. In collaboration with its new Indian subsidiary, Metavisio Computing India Pvt Ltd, Thomson becomes the first European brand to venture into the dynamic Indian market. The launch event, scheduled for November 23, 2023, in New Delhi, will showcase the innovative Thomson products designed for the Indian market.

In a strategic move, Thomson Computing has partnered with Saharsa Electronics Solutions Limited for manufacturing under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) 2.0 program, aligning with the ‘Make in India’ initiative. This collaboration aims to capitalize on the PLI scheme’s benefits and contribute to local manufacturing. Thomson’s official registration as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) brand on the Government of India’s GEM E-Portal strengthens its market position.

The partnership with Saharsa Electronics Solutions Limited will facilitate the ‘Make in India’ production of Thomson’s Computers range, catering to diverse consumer needs, including the BFSI sector, education, and the public sector. Thomson’s commitment to meeting evolving Indian consumer needs is underscored by this alliance with a reputable partner in the public domain.

Thomson emphasizes extensive support services for its products, covering over 15,000 Pin Codes across India through its service partner network. Targeting customers in the sub-25K price range to premium segments, Thomson aims to serve customers in both rural and metro areas with laptops starting at Rs 19,990 and tablets from Rs 12,990 onwards.

Stéphan Francais, President and CEO of Thomson Computing, expresses excitement about entering the Indian market and outlines the brand’s global expertise. Three distributors have been chosen to address different markets, focusing on government and enterprise business, retail offline, and online through strategic partnerships.
