captivating a cue from the success of solar model in states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh is now taking the solar way. In the latest, UP has invited bids of 300MW solar auction. time limit for submitting solar auction bid is 8 September, as informed by Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency.
The state also planning an auction of 20MW which aims at escalation developers relations, those who are looking for projects of less than 5MW, informed Namrata Kalra, project officer at the agency.
This Indian state targets at building 500MW of photovoltaic capacity by the year 2017 under state solar policy which was released last year. UP has signed power purchase agreement with six developers which has names like Mosar Baer India Ltd and Azure Power India Ltd for 130MW of capacity and has agreed to buy photovoltaic capacity starting from $133, said the agency.
“Uttar Pradesh is learnt to be in negotiating terms with a venture in state run hydropower generator NHPC Ltd. to set 50MW of solar capacity”, Kalra added.
