Here is a good news for Infosys employees! New CEO of Infosys, Vishal Sikka has passed over 5,000 promotion offers to the current staff. Sikka has taken this step to retain and improve the workability of current staff. He has approved promotions to employees from delivery, sales, business functions in all locations of Infosys.
Infosys’s spokeswoman said, “We have promoted over 10,000 employees in last two quarters. In order to enable employees increase speed and explore opportunities for career growth, we announced quarterly promotions in February 2014.”
Vishal Sikka recently spent time with trainees in Mysore campus of the company. Infosys has promoted over 15,000 employees from beginning of the year. Sikka has taken this step to reach upto all employees of the company.”
Infosys’s founder, Narayan Murthy had taken same step when he returned in 2013 to accelerate company’s demeaning performance. David Gardner, founder of Gardener and Associate Consulting from California said, “Vishal has very clear concept about what he is doing. He is focusing on boosting and sustaining skillset of company’s employees.”
Sikka has also started ‘Murmurations’ with COO UB Pravin Rao. Murmurations is a employee engagement exercise in which staff of over 160,000 will be sharing innovative ideas with senior authorities.
Infosys had 19.5 per cent attrition rate in first quarter of this year.
According to Gardner, these new initiatives by Sikka will help the company to improve attrition rates.
