The Y35 from vivo was released in August featuring a 44W wired charger and the Snapdragon 680 SoC, but no 5G connection. The Y35’s 5G version, which runs on the Dimensity 700 SoC, has finally been introduced.
The 6.51″ LCD screen of the vivo Y35 5G features a waterdrop notch, just like the 4G version. However, both the screen resolution (from FullHD+ to HD+) and the refresh rate (from 90Hz to 60Hz) have been decreased. There are many camera systems as well. The Y35 5G has a dual camera configuration with 13MP primary and 2MP macro cameras as opposed to the Y35 4G’s 50MP triple camera. The vivo Y35 5G has a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls, in contrast to its 4G counterpart, which has a 16MP camera.
Although it has the same battery capacity as the 4G version, the vivo Y35 5G also charges more slowly (15W vs. 44W) (5,000 mAh). The Y35 4G was released with FuntouchOS 12, which is based on Android 11, while the Y35 5G runs OriginOS Ocean, which is based on Android 13. This is another distinction between the two devices. However, the 3.5mm headphone connector, USB-C port, and side-mounted fingerprint reader are shared by both models.
The three memory options for the vivo Y35 5G are 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB, priced at CNY1,199 ($170/€160), CNY1,399 ($200/€190), and CNY1,499 ($215/€205), respectively. The device is available in black, gold, and blue. There is no information about its availability in other markets, although it will be offered in China through vivo’s official Chinese website.
