Entered into strategic alliance with BSNL, Champion Computers is now focusing on establishing strong presence across country through Channel partners , Mr, Kapil Wadhwa, Director Champion Computers , shared his views with ITVoice. Excerpts:
Q: What are the Channel strategies of Champion Computers?
Mr. Kapil Wadhwa : We have been associated with this industry for a long time now. Headquartered in New Delhi, we enjoy a strong brand salience among channel partners across the country through its strong nationwide distribution network.
We have separate channel structures in place for both IT & Mobility as the target audiences largely vary. We follow the structure of Super Stockists to Distributors to Retailers for both. We would now be focusing on appointing channel partners in Western region and southern region of India.
Our four main channels of distribution would be BSNL outlets, traditional dealers, large scale retail outlets and online. We have appointed 3,000 dealers across the country and we have 500 service centers for after-sales service. These numbers are only likely to grow in the coming year.
We currently have 25 Super stockiest, 100 Distributor and 500 Retailer and growing.
Q: Explain the Strategic Alliance of BSNL & Champion
Mr. Kapil Wadhwa : We entered into a strategic alliance with state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to cater to the ever-growing ICT needs of today’s tech-savvy consumer. As a part of this association, Champion has rolled out a slew of BSNL co-branded products which include Feature Phones, Smart Phones, Phablets, Tablets, data cards (dongles) and wireless networking products. Our association with BSNL has added further credibility to our brand and the products.
Q: What are the Marketing Initiative or partner schemes undertaken by Champion for its partner community?
Kapil: We are working in a phased manner and primarily focused on establishing strong presence across country through Channel partners. We will also be looking at advertising in the Regional Papers, Radio Channels, Banners Ads and Hoarding for making Champion a known brand in the near future.
Q:Which Products/ solutions that Channel Partners sell most?
Mr. Kapil Wadhwa : The following are the products that sell the most through channel partners:

With the Dual Cameras Front 2MP + Back 5 MP, users can capture all the great memories supported by the 3500mAh Long Battery Life; which gives Talk Time up to 4 hrs and Standby Time of 62hrs. Q: How Partner community is adopting with advanced computing technology?
Mr. Kapil Wadhwa : The partner community is constantly evolving as the dynamics of the market & demand changes. They are open to adopting newest technologies & products to cater to their target audiences. Partners understand the technology transitions and the importance of adopting the same to survive in today’s challenging market conditions.
Q: What new products Champion is going to bring to the market?
Mr. Kapil Wadhwa : We are focusing on Pan India Expansion. We have started with North subsequently to South and other regions. We aim to reach out to larger audience with the new products under the partnership with BSNL in 2014.
We believe that technology should be available at affordable prices, especially in Indian context. We will be introducing numerous ranges smart phones with top-end features, phablets, tablets and data cards at very affordable rates. We will work on the design and performance of our products to make them feature rich , eye-catching and at the same time easy to use. We have already introduced some of them in Q1, 2014.
Q:Will champion computers Shift its focus from IT to Mobility
Mr. Kapil Wadhwa : We have been in IT for 25+ Years , IT is in our blood , Mobility is a additional business vertical . It is our most recent stint and was introduced in 2013. We are expecting better results in terms of sales and volume business in view of the quality that we are targeting to deliver. We won’t shift to mobility but the combination of both is what defines our business and we are certain that this combination will together be profitable for us.
