Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced a variety of security enhancements, including safeguards against unauthorized account transfers to different devices, defense mechanisms against WhatsApp-targeting malware, and simplified security code verification using automated codes. These initiatives underscore their unwavering commitment to bolstering user security.
The new beta update hints at WhatsApp’s intent to introduce a security feature linked to users’ email addresses, offering an additional layer of protection. This feature will be optional and distinct from the existing two-step verification process, which also incorporates email addresses.
