WhatsApp is said to be working on a new feature that will allow channel owners to appoint additional administrators within WhatsApp Channels, a one-way broadcast tool for individuals and organizations to share updates privately on the platform. According to reports, the feature is in development and is part of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.23.7 update.
This forthcoming feature will add a new option within the channel info screen, allowing channel owners to invite admins to the channel. This enhancement is expected to become a valuable tool for channel management, as it enables owners to select trusted individuals who can assist in managing and sharing content.
The report also notes that the channel admin list will remain private and will not be visible to channel followers. This feature is intended to provide greater control and management capabilities to channel owners, which can be especially valuable as the channel’s size and activity grow.
The ability to add new admins will make it easier to post content and maintain the channel’s activity level. In cases where WhatsApp channels are used for news updates and reader engagement, having multiple admins can be crucial for swiftly sharing breaking news stories, as various reporters and editors can contribute in real-time.
While this feature is still in development, it is anticipated that it will be included in a future update of the WhatsApp app, enhancing the management and efficiency of WhatsApp Channels for channel owners and administrators.
