WhatsApp is set to launch a feature that enables sharing of photos and videos in their original quality

WhatsApp has been responsive to user demands, introducing a plethora of long-awaited features and incorporating UI/UX changes following Material Design 3 guidelines.

The latest beta update, version 2.23.18.12, brings a significant addition. Users can now share photos and videos in their unaltered quality, marking a departure from the app’s historical practice of compressing images, which often resulted in reduced clarity and loss of detail. This feature is a response to user concerns about image compression, even in the recent ‘high-quality’ photo-sharing update.

The impending update promises to offer a seamless experience, with a streamlined process for selecting photos and videos from the in-app gallery. Despite being labeled as ‘documents,’ this approach minimizes unnecessary navigation through menus or folders, simplifying the process of sharing media in its original quality.

While the feature is currently in development, it holds promise for delivering enhanced media sharing capabilities. Additionally, WhatsApp remains innovative, as recent beta updates hint at a redesigned calling interface, AI-generated stickers, and the ability to schedule group calls.
