Android phones aren’t known for security like Blackberry. But a device is trying to change that image of Android. Silent Circle, a secure communication specialist company has developed a smartphone that they’re selling for $630, it is claimed to be the most secure Android phone, so far.
To develop a secure Android phone, Silent Circle had tied up with Geeksphone, which is a Spanish hardware manufacturing company in last year. This new phone will have fully encrypted voice, video calls and SMSs, a smart network manager called Kismet Smarter, it is used to prevent WiFi hotspots from capturing history of wireless connections of device and other information. The company has tied up with SpiderOak to provide encrypted cloud services. This device is called as Blackphone.
Blackphone sports a 11.938-cm (4.7-inch) display of 720p resolution. It is powered by Tegra 4i quadcore processor with 2GHz clockspeed, coupled with 1GB of RAM. Blackphone comes with 16GB of internal storage and expandable microSD card slot. The phone has 8MP camera. The specs sheet may sound not worth $630 but the focus of company is securing your mobile communication.
Blackphone will be back in market on 14 July as initial stocks of the device were sold out too quickly. SilentCircle and Geeksphone are reopening web store for Blackphone on 14 July.
