X introduces a pair of fresh subscription options, beginning at a cost of Rs 244 monthly

To celebrate the first anniversary of Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, which was then known as X, the social media platform, now rebranded as X, has introduced two fresh subscription models. The new plans include Basic and Premium+ versions, supplementing the existing Premium plan.

These subscription offerings afford users diverse choices based on their requirements and budget. Both plans offer access to X’s fundamental features, while the Premium+ plan extends additional perks such as the most significant reply boost, tweet undo capability, and access to select exclusive features.

In India, the Basic plan starts at Rs 244 per month, or users can opt for an annual subscription at Rs 2,590. The Premium+ plan is priced at Rs 1,300 per month, with an annual subscription available for Rs 13,600. Presently, both new subscription models are accessible through the web platform.

Differentiating the Basic plan from the Premium+ plan, the former does not include the blue verification check mark but does offer increased reply boosts. Alongside, it enables editing tweets, extended tweet lengths of up to 4,000 characters, longer video uploads of up to 20 minutes, two-factor authentication, encrypted direct messages, options to conceal likes and subscriptions, among other benefits. Users who opt for the Basic plan will continue to see advertisements.

Conversely, the Premium+ plan, as implied by the name, surpasses the Premium plan by providing a completely ad-free experience on the user’s timeline. Content creators receive multiple perks, including access to Media Studio and analytical tools. The plan retains other features and offers users a verified blue check mark.

Both new subscriptions aim to cater to a variety of user preferences while enhancing the user experience on the platform.
