Xiaomi has recently launched MiUi 6 for its devices
ITVoice News: Xiaomi has recently announced its new MIUI 6. MIUI 6 has lots of design related changes and some new features. Somehow, MIUI 6 resembles a lot like Apple’s iOS 7. All upcoming devices will come with MIUI 6 installed out of the box while devices like Xiaomi Mi 3 will receive the new UI in a software update. MIUI 6 has quite colorful and minimalistic user interface. The UI also brings number of security features.
Xiaomi has used white spaces with bright colours for apps in this new OS. The MIUI 6 is more neat and it’s definitely a big UI change as compared to MIUI 5. App icons have also been redesigned. Specially, mail, calendar apps are more grade color heavy now. It remind of Apple iOS 7’s icons and background design.
The camera app has got new face too, there is a big target button in camera button in center. It shows more cleanliness to the camera UI. Similarly, calculator and clock app have got more cleaner user interface now. Earlier the design was pretty clustered and confusing. Xiaomi has implemented finely toned and real world design elements in new interface.
Non-intrusive notification feature helps users for notification of incoming calls and messages when they are doing some other task on the phone. The new advance lock screen of MIUI 6 gives detailed information regarding pending notifications, alarms.
MIUI 6 has TrueCaller integrated within dialer, so it shows caller ID for unknown callers using TrueCaller service. The new dialer can bypass the machine recording of important helplines and carrier’s customer care and directly connect you to the hotline.
You can expect to see some new creative themes in new MIUI 6. Even developers are promoted to design new themes for the UI in future. Apple gained lot of popularity after the launch of iOS7. Company introduced flat UI design for the first time in its history. There is a controversial talk around Xiaomi that says, Xiaomi tries to copy Apple in every aspect of a smartphone. Xiaomi was rumored to copy hardware design of Apple products, but now it has also seen copying software designs of Apple iOS.
There are some unique features in MIUI 6 such as notification toggle, theme store, permission manager which are absent in iOS 7 but there is a buzz in media that says, MIUI 6 is totally the iOS 7 rip-off. Even, the new website for MIUI 6 is inspired by Apple’s website.
